Encinitas, Calif. (August 27, 2012) – Keanu Asing (HAW), 19, wins the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 6-Star Coastal Edge ECSC Vans Pro Junior with a combined heat total of 14.73 in two-to-four foot waves at 1st Street Jetty in Virginia Beach, VA.

"At the US Open, I went out in the Quarter Finals of the Junior Pro, and my goal was to take the lead in the North America ratings. With this event, I was able to achieve that with a 6-Star win."
The Finals saw Asing surfing strategically with focused confidence, and his familiar Aloha smile to take the win. With today's win, Asing is ranked No. 1 on the ASP North America Pro Junior and also holds 44th in the current ASP Men's world rankings.
The Ewa Beach, HI, native, finished No. 1 on the 2011 ASP Hawaii Pro Junior Series. Asing has been taking his surfing around the world this year seriously with his sights set on the World Title, which is up for grabs this October at the Oakley ASP World Junior Championships in Bali.
From Virginia Beach, Asing is headed straight across the Atlantic to Spain's Basque Country for the 6-Star San Miguel Pro Zarautz presented by Euskaltel.
